The Convocation for Pastors of Black Churches exists for the information, inspiration and encouragement of Pastors of Black Churches and those those who support them. For the last ten years participants of the bi-annual Convocation for Pastors of Black Churches have requested another kind of gathering to be held between the national assemblages. The Gathering was designed as an answer to that clarion call.
The event includes daily worship, plenary sessions, small-group sessions, networking and communal meals. While The Gathering will be held in the Southeastern Jurisdiction (SEJ) of The United Methodist Church, all clergy and lay from all denominations are welcome to participate and attend.
At the conclusion of your fellowship with us, our prayer is that you will be:
Informed with the ecclesial and community resources needed for transforming and advocating in your community with Christian practices and African-centered principles.
Inspired by church leaders to lead fearlessly and strategically to make disciples for the transformation of their communities and the world, and
Encouraged to create, plan and implement a course of action for bridging relationships and disciplining communities.
